Participants subject to CIRO’s Mutual Fund Dealer (MFD) and the CSF’s Continuing Education (CE) Programs
Contact
CIRO is pleased to announce that, in cooperation with the Chambre de la sécurité financière (CSF), we have agreed to an exchange of information for Participants subject to both CIRO’s MFD CE Program and CSF’s CE Program requirements.
Both CIRO and the CSF are aware of the duplication of reporting efforts for Participants who are subject to both CE requirements. To reduce duplication, CSF has agreed to provide CIRO with reporting of Participants who have completed the CSF CE requirements. CSF confirmation of Participant completion will be used by CIRO to evidence completion of the Professional Development and Business Conduct credits. Participants will still need to complete the MFD Compliance Credits.
CIRO will also provide the CSF with information on those Participants who have completed the MFD Compliance Credits which will be applied towards their requirements as a participant in the CSF CE Program.
Please note that the CERTs system will not reflect specific attendance records or course information where CIRO is relying on CSF confirmation of completion. Further, it will take some time to exchange and validate data with the CSF. Accordingly, the CERTs system may not reflect accurate completion records as at November 30, 2023 but we anticipate the data exchange to be complete by December 31, 2023.
CIRO and the CSF will continue to work together to evaluate this process going forward for their respective upcoming cycles.
