Exam Hub
CIRO’s new proficiency model takes an assessment-centric approach. The new proficiency model does not require preparatory courses although you can look for education providers who may be offering relevant education, courses, or other resources to help you prepare. Please note that we do not provide a list. For information on each exam, please see below. Once you are ready to enrol in an exam, then please see below links to the Enrolment Portal.
To enrol in an exam, pay for an exam, and create your candidate profile, or to enrol in Conduct Training (for Investment Dealer Approved Persons only):
To schedule an exam, cancel or change an exam date, or access Conduct Training (Investment Dealer Approved Persons only), once you have enroled*.
*Important note: You must enrol through the enrolment portal before logging into the Candidate Portal.

Conduct Training
Warning: Conduct Training is for Investment Dealer Approved Persons only. If you are not an Investment Dealer Approved Person, you are prohibited from enrolling in the Conduct Training. Misrepresentation may result in an action by CIRO. Candidates are responsible for reviewing the Mandatory Conduct Training Policy – Fitch Learning Support.
As a reminder, upon enrolling for Conduct Training, you must confirm your status as an Investment Dealer Approved Person and provide relevant information. Misrepresentation may lead to a ban from the enrolment site, the requirement to re-take the Conduct Training, imposition of the fee associated with the training, or other regulatory actions as considered appropriate by CIRO.
As of January 1, 2026, CIRO Proficiency is assessed through nine examinations based on competency profiles. Resource materials for each of these exams, including syllabi, sample questions, and guides for study, are published below.
Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam
