Louis Marcotte
Mr. Marcotte is the Chief Financial Officer for Intact Financial Corporation (Intact). A financial management expert with public and private company experience, Mr. Marcotte brings a global perspective to the CIRO Board.
Since December 2013, Mr. Marcotte has overseen the financial affairs of Intact. Before his appointment, Mr. Marcotte held the role of Senior Vice President of Strategic Distribution, overseeing Intact’s investments in the broker network and the development of financial solutions for the company’s brokers and partners. Prior to that, Mr. Marcotte was Treasurer of Intact responsible for investor relations, financial planning and treasury.
Mr. Marcotte has more than 30 years of progressive international experience in financial management with expertise in mergers and acquisitions, financing, system implementation, public reporting, tax, and corporate governance.
Mr. Marcotte also serves on the Board of Governors of Finance Montréal and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Québec Chapter of Financial Executive International Canada. In May 2021, Mr. Marcotte joined the federal government’s Sustainable Finance Action Council to provide input on the foundational market infrastructure needed for a stable and reliable sustainable finance market in Canada. On the Council, he is leading one of three expert subgroups tasked with bridging data gaps.
He is a graduate of McGill University, holds an executive MBA from the Vlerick School of Business, and is a Fellow of the Québec Order of CPAs.
