Mr. Mills is the Senior Vice President, Treasury Market and Liquidity Risk Management at CIBC responsible for the risk management of the treasury, insurance and pension businesses. Mr. Mills contributes a wealth of risk management and financial expertise to the CIRO Board from a large bank-owned, fully integrated (retail and institutional) dealer member.
Previously at CIBC he was Vice President, Market Risk Management. Mr. Mills was a Senior Derivatives Trader at Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander, London, England. He was Head of Derivatives Trade at Nationwide Building Society in Northampton; Director, Private Fund Manager at Annex Capital Management, London; Associate Director, Equity Derivative Trading at UBS Warburg, London; Head of Fixed Income Trading – Asia at BMO Nesbit Burns/Bank of Montréal; and was a chartered accountant at KPMG Peat Marwick, London.
He served as an IIROC Board member and on its FAR Committee.
Mr. Mills has a Bachelor of Commerce and Finance (Honours) from the University of Toronto. He has a Certificate in Quantitative Finance, is a Chartered Financial Analyst and is a Chartered Accountant (FCA).
