Hearing Forms

Request a Hearing Date

Parties to Enforcement proceedings may request a hearing date by filing the Hearing Date Request Form (PDF) with the Hearings Office at [email protected].

The same form is used to request a hearing date for an initial appearance, prehearing conference, motion, application, settlement hearing, liability hearing, sanction hearing or review hearing.

A prehearing conference can be used as an opportunity to discuss settlement or to set or amend a timetable for the steps to take place before the hearing.

Bring a Motion

A party may use a Notice of Motion Form (PDF) to bring a motion before a hearing panel.

File an Affidavit

An Affidavit Form (PDF) may be used to prepare and file an affidavit in a CIRO proceeding.

Summons Witnesses

At any stage of a proceeding, a party may request a hearing panel to exercise its authority under Rule 8208 of the Investment Dealer and Partially Consolidated Rules and the Mutual Fund Dealer Rules of Procedure to require a person to attend and give evidence or produce documents at a hearing. Rule 1.5 and 1.6 of the Rules of Procedure set out the hearing panel's powers to order and admit evidence.

If the request is granted by a hearing panel, a Summons to Witness (PDF) may be issued.

Request to Attend a Hearing

Members of the public and media are able to observe CIRO’s public proceedings.

To observe a hearing that is open to the public, please register to attend the hearing by completing the Hearing Attendance Request Form. Reach out to the Hearings Office at [email protected] with any questions.

  • Advisor Report

We will continue moving items off MFDA and IIROC in 2024. Stay tuned for future updates.
