Andrew J. Kriegler

Earlier this week, the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) appointed CIRO CEO, Andrew J. Kriegler, to chair the Affiliate Members Consultative Committee (AMCC).

IOSCO is the international body that brings together the world’s securities regulators and is recognized for setting global standards for financial markets regulation. The organization develops, implements and promotes internationally recognized standards for regulators.

The objectives of the AMCC are to share experiences and enhance cooperation among its members. It provides input into policies and standard-setting activities proposed by IOSCO. It also has dedicated streams of work including the Regulatory Affairs Group, the Emerging Risks Group and the Regulatory Staff Training Working Group.

The AMCC is comprised of 69 affiliate members, representing global securities and derivatives markets and other market infrastructures, self-regulatory organizations (SROs), investor protection funds, as well as other bodies with appropriate interest in securities regulation.

Kriegler is the sole representative from Canada on the AMCC and we are proud to have him representing CIRO and all that we stand for on the world’s stage.

On behalf of the team, congratulations Andrew!
