Laura Tamblyn Watts

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CanAge

Ms. Tamblyn Watts is a corporate director and the CEO of CanAge, Canada’s national seniors’ advocacy organization. Ms. Tamblyn Watts has done extensive advocacy work focusing on vulnerable investors, consumer rights, social justice, aging and inclusion. She is a public interest executive with 25 years’ experience giving a lens to a key CIRO stakeholder group, as well as institutional knowledge from her service on the IIROC board.

Ms. Tamblyn Watts currently serves on a number of boards and committees including AGE-WELL: Canada’s Network Centre of Excellence on Aging and Technology and PACE Independent Living. She previously served as Chair of the Consumer Advisory Panel of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA), a member of the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority Consumer Advisory Panel and as the consumer appointee on the Bereavement Authority of Ontario. She previously served on the IIROC board and its Corporate Governance Committee.

She is a Canadian expert appointee on the North American Securities Administrators’ Association’s Seniors’ and Vulnerable Persons Committee, as well as being a founding member of the OSC’s Seniors’ Expert Advisory Committee. Her #1 Bestselling new book Let’s Talk About Aging Parents was released in April 2024.

Ms. Tamblyn Watts was awarded the 2020–2021 Community Leadership in Justice Fellowship by the Law Foundation of Ontario. She was presented with Queen’s University’s highest humanitarian honour, the “Global Citizenship Award” in 2025. She was also inducted as an inaugural AgeTech Innovation Fellow of the Centre for Aging and Brain Health Innovation (CABHI) at Baycrest. She was also awarded the Distinguished International Fellow Award from Stetson University Centre for Excellence in Elder Law and is a Canadian representative to the International Guardianship Network, and Fellow of the World Congress on Adult Guardianship.

She received her undergraduate degree in Political Science (Honours) from Queen’s University and her law degree (with Honours) from the University of Victoria.
