Request for Business Change
We have created a user-friendly template to help investment dealers submit requests for changes to their business to the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO).
The Investment Dealer and Partially Consolidated Rules (IDPC Rules) require investment dealers to notify us of changes in ownership or changes in structure, or material changes to their business activities1 .
Request for Business Change template
We have created a template entitled Request for Business Change to help ensure investment dealers provide key information related to their business change request and inform them of necessary supplementary documents. In addition to helping investment dealers provide a complete and detailed submission, utilizing the template will also help expedite CIRO's review.
Notifying CIRO of a Business Change
If an investment dealer wishes to notify CIRO of a Business Change, they should:
- Complete the Request for Business Change template in full, providing any relevant details in the text boxes provided.
- Include any supporting materials as an attachment, labelled with the corresponding section number on the Request for Business Change template.
- Submit the above noted documents to [email protected].
For Registration related business changes, please promptly file the updates through the National Registration Database (NRD) in accordance with NI 33-109.
Mutual Fund Dealers
We will be developing a similar template for mutual fund dealers to use when submitting ownership changes and other applicable changes to their business.
